Work experience has included Graphic Design/Art Direction and print production for advertising agencies and design boutiques, several freelance jobs in a variety of industries, and the highlight... working with OpenTV and Echostar to create the user interface and navigation for The Karaoke Channel on Dish Network. More recent experience includes focusing on internet marketing, from increasing online conversions on e-commerce sites to search engine optimization and usability testing and site improvements.
Clients are typically other small businesses, with whom a solid working relationship forms. In responding to client demand, Laura is returning more often to her first love: designing printed pieces~ for example magazine ads, brochures and pocket folders.
Laura earned a B.A. in Communications/Mass Media from Appalachian State University. Not realizing it at the time, she was preparing for web design in the pre-web design era with minors in Art, Marketing and Technology. Since then, has followed up with courses in Graphic Design and Art Direction from the Creative Circus in Atlanta, and is close to completing an Associate's Degree in Internet Technology from CPCC in Charlotte.
